The truck on the left is mine (a truck that receives many snarky comments).
The truck on the right is a truck that I’d love to have.
Why don’t I buy the truck on the right?
- I realize that I can’t afford the truck on the right while still meeting my savings goals.
- My truck does exactly what that truck does – they would both take me where I need to go. It would simply be a material purchase.
- Any potential repairs, maintenance, and gas would all likely be more expensive for the truck on the right.
My savings goals are much more important to me right now than driving a nice vehicle. Yes, I’d love to drive that truck every day, but it would only distance me from my long term goals.
My plan is to ride Ol’ Red until she dies (well, maybe not quite that long). If you think she’s ugly, then deal with it.
